The Summer 2025 AHA Summer program was a great success!
Five students came to UF campus for 10 weeks and participated in hands-on research in the lab, professional development programming, and networking. The students conducted research in the labs of Whitney Stoppel (Chemical Engineering), Carl Denard (Chemical Engineering), Tommy Angelini (Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering), Renato Navarro (Materials Science and Engineering) and Ana Maria-Porras (Biomedical Engineering) on a diverse array of projects related to cardiovascular health. Similar to teh previous year, the summer 2025 students engaged in activities with the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET) Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow (SURF) program students at UF as well as the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering SURF program. It was a great collaborative and networking opportunity! The students presented their work, met faculty and other students, and had a great time.
The summer ended with a research symposia where the students showcased their work!
This program would not be possible without the support of the American Heart Association, Institutional Award for Undergraduate Training to Dr. Allen. We are grateful for their support!
